I often wonder about cultural differences and how one language will have a word that means something specific, but another language will have nothing like it. I find it interesting. Kind of like how Eskimos have, what is it, 36 words for snow?

I'll know who to come to next year when I'm taking Spanish at the University. I took 3 1/2 years in high school but that was a while ago. My mother didn't make sure I learned the language so even though I am half hispanic, I can't speak it. Drives me nuts! At least I can learn the words with no English meaning here!

Is that similar to "melancholy"?

It's the phrases that I always have trouble with in different languages.

Yeah it's really similar. Only, the way it was explained to me, flato also implies the sense that something bad is about to happen.
